Last Week and This Week - 14th November
Last Thursday, our first practical session focused on creative techniques! Members had the chance to experiment with light positioning to create stunning reflections and dramatic shadows, bringing out new textures and details in their shots. Another station allowed members to craft unique cityscapes using everyday items like staples and ironmongery, resulting in miniature urban scenes that sparked everyone's imagination. Unfortunately, the second session was halted by the fire alarm sounding with was a huge shame (it was nothing serious the water boiler had triggered it!). Photos below by our members Claire Wilson-Sharp and Margaret Purkis.
Next week, we’re thrilled to welcome Chris Ceaser, an acclaimed UK-based fine art landscape photographer, for a special talk titled "Composition in Landscape." Chris is celebrated for his breath-taking captures of both natural and urban landscapes, with scenes ranging from his native Yorkshire to the Lake District, Scotland, Venice, and Rome.
In this talk, Chris will dive into the art of composition, sharing valuable insights and practical tips to elevate your photography. The first session will provide hands-on advice for crafting impactful shots, while the second will take a closer look at specific images, analysing what makes them exceptional.
For non-members, tickets are available via the ‘Events’ section on our website. Don’t miss this chance to learn from one of the best in the field!
